Attach the brush to the cleaning rod.

Moisten the brush with a suitable cleaning solvent.

Make 6–12 passes through the barrel.
NOTE: With bronze brushes, you must always push the brush completely through the full length of the barrel and allow it to exit from the muzzle before reversing direction. Never reverse the brush while it is still inside the barrel!

Reapply the cleaning agent and continue as needed.
