Geissele 10-247 Reaction Rod is a mounting / gunsmithing tool for AR-10, SR-25, and .308 Win platforms that clamps into a vise and allows safe work on the upper receiver without stressing the aluminum receiver.

The principle is simple: the rod is clamped in a vise, the upper receiver is slid onto the rod, and its splines engage the barrel extension. This transfers all torque during installation or removal directly into the barrel extension, not into the receiver itself.
