JP rifles - basic builds - JP GMR-15 9mm Carbine
JP Enterprises (USA)
  • The GMR-15 APC (All Purpose Carbine) is specially designed for competition in the PCC (Pistol Calibre Carbine) category
  • This carbine is based on the classic JP-15 and is a very high-quality firearm used by the world's top competitors in IPSC PCC.
  • It is also a suitable choice for any other sporting use and training.
  • Thanks to the high quality of components and assembly, the platform using 9 mm Glock magazines and arguably the most widespread ammunition, this rifle is a clear choice.
  • Thanks to the price of ammunition, training will cost you significantly less than with .223 REM

Basic product description

  • JP rifles are the absolute world TOP-class
many brands claim this status, but when we look past the marketing talk, only some truly belong there. And JP definitely does.
  • Top-level craftsmanship and unmatched accuracy
one must be honest with oneself, recognize the limits of this caliber, and have realistic expectations. With JP rifles in .223 Rem, groups of 0.4-0.6 MOA are achievable; with JP rifles in 9 mm, it's somewhere between 3.5 and 6.5 MOA. That's not the rifle... but the caliber and its limits.) But hitting a small steel plate at 50-75m on the first shot is no problem. So accuracy for PCC purposes is more than sufficient.
  • Trigger mechanism belonging to the Top-Class category
  • This trigger mechanism is among the top triggers and unless you are in the "top-20" at least in the country, you have no reason to replace it. Of course, top competitive shooters may have different preferences, but for regular people and even high-performing shooters, this trigger is an absolutely suitable choice.
  • Top-level craftsmanship of all components
  • absolutely incomparable to similar products in its category

JP is simply Best Of The Best ...
... and perfectly complements BestPatron's strategy

BestPatron.eu personal opinion:

  • There is a lot of debate about why go with a standard blowback when today we have newer technologies, various delayed and hydraulic and other bolt systems. JP remains a classic design in this regard. It has its advantages and disadvantages, of course.
  • Disadvantages: technological aging, where JP took quite a long time before they adopted a buffer system that would be "short stroke" (if you choose it). The weapon's behavior is not as comfortable due to the counterweight, but it is still possible to shoot at the world's top level with this setup. Which is confirmed by many world-class shooters who compete with exactly this weapon.
  • Advantages: RELIABILITY. When I recently spoke with Josh Froelich (World PCC Champion), I was naturally curious about why he chose the JP GMR-15. Here is the condensed answer: "Because it works reliably. When you're fighting for first place in the world, we're so tightly packed within a few percent of performance... that one small malfunction... and I'm 5 to 10 places down. I can't afford to risk that. I'd rather sacrifice a small amount of comfort and trade it for reliability." And that explains quite aptly "why the JP GMR-15".
  • I personally also own a GMR-15 ... and I am completely satisfied with it. The only thing I've done to it is swap out their aluminum handguard for a carbon fiber one to lighten the front end. And nothing else. Complete satisfaction.
  • Two small things to watch out for: 9mm carbines with a high round count (30,000 rounds in half a year, etc.) can destroy even quality red dot sights. They simply take a different kind of beating than .223s. The second small thing: carry a spare firing pin. Although with JP .223s I boast that I don't need any spare parts, with 9mms it occasionally breaks. So it's good to have a spare with you. (PS: even when it breaks, the carbine keeps running. But during cleaning they'll fall into your hands in two pieces.)
  • Overall: I think it's a great weapon. Both quality-wise and design-wise. And that it doesn't have the newest-super-ultra-technologies... it doesn't. And that's why it keeps running reliably and without malfunctions. And that counts!
