Loctite 2701 (ZELENÝ) pro trvalé upevňování a utěsňování závitových spojů - 5 ml

Loctite 2701 for permanent fastening and sealing of threaded connections - 5 ml
Henkel (GER)
LOCTITE 2701 is designed for permanent fastening and sealing of threaded connections. The product cures anaerobically in the gap between bonded metal surfaces and prevents loosening or leakage caused by vibration and shock. This product is particularly suitable for use on inactive surfaces and where maximum resistance to hot oil is required.

Instructions for use:
1. For best results, clean all surfaces (both external and internal) using LOCTITE® cleaners and allow to dry thoroughly.
2. If the material is an inactive metal or the curing time is too long, apply to all threads and allow to dry thoroughly.
3. To prevent clogging of the applicator nozzle, do not touch the nozzle tip to the metal surface during product application.
4. For through holes, apply a few drops of product to the bolt in the area where the nut will be located.
5. For blind holes, apply a few drops of product into the internal thread at the bottom of the hole.
6. For sealing, apply a bead of product all the way around the leading threads of the bolt, leaving only the first thread free. Press the product into the threads so that it fills all the space. For larger threads, increase the amount of product applied accordingly and also apply a bead around the internal thread of the nut.
7. Assemble and tighten as required.
For disassembly
Apply local heat to the nut or bolt to approximately 250 °C. Disassemble while hot.
For cleaning
Cured product can be removed by a combination of soaking in Loctite solvent and mechanical abrasion using, for example, a wire brush.
BestPatron's personal opinion:
Thread locker is a very useful tool that is worth using if you don't want certain parts on your firearm to come loose and potentially cause malfunctions or render the weapon inoperable. This "so-called adhesive" can be used on various threads, set screws, bolts, etc., but it's worth carefully choosing WHICH type to use. Some thread lockers are weaker and can be loosened easily. Some are stronger but can still be loosened without heating. And some hold like a rock up to 250 °C and even then come apart rather reluctantly. Choose carefully, depending on whether the component in question will be subject to thermal stress or not.
- Thermally stressed components: e.g. muzzle brakes or their set screws, gas blocks and their adjustment and mounting set screws, fasteners on firearm receivers, etc...
- Non-thermally stressed components: e.g. screws on mounts, screws outside the direct influence of heat generated by shooting, fasteners on stocks, etc.
I have selected two basic variants of thread lockers for you, which have served me well for many years and I have never needed any others. These are Loctite 243 (blue) and Loctite 2701 (green). (Note: there are many "blue" ones and many "green" ones, so go by the individual product codes instead.) The BLUE one can be reasonably loosened, and preheating helps but is not mandatory. The GREEN one holds quite firmly, so think carefully before using it.
In any case, these two products should be in the range bag of every good shooter. Not only because it's good practice to use them and prevent problems, but also because an inexperienced shooter always seems to need them at some point... and you can then help them right there at the range.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Use thread lockers only on clean and degreased screws and threads. Some mounts come from the factory with waxed or lubricated screws (e.g. Spuhr), and applying thread locker or adhesive will therefore have no effect whatsoever.
