MIL-C Reticle – designed for today's long-range sport shooters

The MIL-C reticle will help you estimate the distance to a target if you know the size of that target. Use one of the following methods:

(target size in inches ÷ target size in reticle in MRAD) × 27.77 = distance to target in yards

(target size in inches ÷ target size in reticle in MRAD) × 25.4 = distance to target in meters

(target size in centimeters ÷ target size in reticle in MRAD) × 10.93 = distance to target in yards

(target size in centimeters ÷ target size in reticle in MRAD) × 10 = distance to target in meters

EXAMPLE:
A standard US STOP sign (indicated in the image on the right) measures approximately 30" in both height and width. Knowing the sign's dimensions, you can use the formula above, i.e.:

(target size in inches ÷ target size in reticle in MRAD) × 25.4 = distance to target in meters, i.e.:

(30 ÷ 2.5) × 25.4 = 12 × 25.4 = 304.8 m
